OMG PUPPIES!

PUPPIES ARE SPECIAL

"My puppy is 10 weeks old and he is perfection! He doesn't bark, he sleeps a lot, he's friendly and just loves other dogs. This is so easy!" Lulling you into a false sense of security is actually a well-known puppy super power. Don't fall for it. You can enjoy all the soft, lazy, cuteness but do not miss the most important developmental stage of your dog's life. That adorable, squishy ball of perfection is only a version of the dog you will be sharing many years with and what you do in the first months can set the course for the rest of his life. Learning about dog behavior, training, and communication will help you avoid future problems. It will also give you some helpful foundations to deal with unforeseen situations that may rise up in adolescence and adulthood.

When should I start training?

"In general, puppies can start puppy socialization classes as early as 7-8 weeks of age. Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first class and a first deworming. They should be kept up-to-date on vaccines throughout the class."

Puppy Primer
This a single educational session given in your home with as many people as will be interacting with your dog. Consistency is always a critical factor. You will learn about developmental milestones, including socialization, bite inhibition and how dogs learn to interact with other dogs at this age. We will discuss fear, how to identify it and how to handle it during times when your puppy is most susceptible.  Of course, we will discuss training but socialization should be the priority for any little one under 4 months old.

  • 1.5 - 2.0 hour session includes notes for what we discussed specific to your puppy

  • Support handouts

  • Text/email interactions in case you have questions

  • Socialization checklist to insure you have covered all of the exposure bases

Cost for In-Clinic or Virtual Puppy Primer with summary: $295.

Cost for In-Home Puppy Primer with summary: $395.

Puppy Pack (Under 5 months of age)
Puppies happen. Stuff will go down that they may not be able to address in a group class. Private, in-home training is an excellent choice to help with more specific behaviors that are happening in your home and are being impacted by the environment. It's also helpful to have some guidance when applying the amazing skills you learn in a class setting to your particular home setting. These sessions are customized to your training goals.

  • 3 Private Training Sessions - 1 hour each - Puppies have short attention spans and tire easily so there will be lots of shorts breaks in between skills!

  • Session includes notes, homework, and support handouts

  • Text/email support over the course of the engagement

Cost for In-Clinic/Virtual Package: $425.

Cost for In-Home Package: $525.
